the port of monfalcone

The Port of Monfalcone is the most northern port place of the Adriatic Sea and, consequently, the closest one to central Europe. It is located at 45° 47' N latitude and at 13° 33' E longitude.

Tide
The tide is of a semidiurnal nature, with an amplitude that varies from a minimum of 0.50 m. to a maximum of 1.50 m. The prevailing winds come from ENE (“bora”) and from the South (“scirocco”).
Fog
Fog is practically inexistent: with an average of 3 days per year, mainly during the winter months.
Depth
Depth ranges from –9.5 m. to –11.7 m. with an expected 13.00 metres being reached by means of dredging.
Access canal
The 4,500 metre long canal is 11.70 m depth and 166 m. width in the ditch.
Wharfs
Wharfs, fully equipped to handle any type of cargo, are operative for 1,500 metres. Nine berths are available at the “Portorosega” wharf, 2 for the power station at the “E-ON” wharf and 1 at the “De Franceschi” wharf (grains silos).
Restriction
Max draft - 9,5 m to 11,70 m (tide0). Dredging works on access canal to the port must still be tested. Current max accepted draft: -10.90 meters.
No LOA restriction.
